Gaia cult being a family really is very well thought since Gaya is a kind of personification of Mother Nature

Gaia is Greek mythology. She was the mother of the Titans who gave birth to the gods.and several monsters as well like the Cyclops. Essentially she was the Earth as to the time many human beings believed that everything revolved around the earth not the sun. Pretty much the mother of all life and valued it. The Gods were the children of the Titans which some are also called Titans. Makes sense for her to have the role of mother and creating monsters. On the contrary she goes to war with with her Grand children the gods who she found mistreated her children. On the contrary following suit to hate the Gods. The titans are like pre-gods who gave birth to the gods. On the Contrary makes sense for Gaia to be a character who follows suit.

Thank You! I didn't have time to make a similar comment yesterday when I watched the anime and read some of the comments confusing what was being represented here. It's nice to see you took care of this long before I did. Appreciate!

Dbz Directioner • 10 months ago

Wow, thanks for the mythalogy lesson. I didn't knew all this. I really like knowing about this kinds of stuff.👍

Manga’s explanation (better content) on why Mitama can’t “ask” real God Gaia to nullify the Archon Gaia’s power like with Dakini’s case.

What Mitama meant when Gaia can’t understand words is that Gaia is a “Promodial god” of Earth. Basically, a god that doesn’t exactly have “sentience” and is more of a “Driving force of nature”. Kinda like some “form of power” that “exists and functions” but doesn’t exactly think. It’s kinda like trying to talk to the Sun (a source of great power that grants life/death and purpose, but we can’t really talk to it).

Supushan • 10 months ago

if manga content is that much skipped maybe I'll go read it all from start after next episode

Courier Six • 10 months ago

The anime is rushing a lot of content this arc to wrap things up. Sadly, unless you know Japanese the anime is all you got. The English version of the manga is very far behind.

DĂŒĂ¶lingöhhh Snorlax • 10 months ago

Sigh
Sometimes the manga gets scanlated AFTER the anime aired (e.g.: Ranking of Kings - but that manga looks like a sketch though)

itsukia • 10 months ago

far behind is a understatement

Supushan • 10 months ago

Just checked and its at when they go check the capital this season. Quite some read but still pretty far from season finale point.

Archaic Sage • 10 months ago

Use a text image translation app. I speak Japanese, but I cannot read kanji, hiragana, or katakana.

Courier Six • 10 months ago

Those things aren't completely accurate. Basic statements may come out fine enough, but the more text... The more errors will occur. OCR by itself still has a long way to go. How on Earth do you speak Japanese while not being able to read any of it...

Mega-Chad-Type-Hero • 10 months ago

It is a strange thing, but, I do find that we can talk... communicate with the «universe» that can actually seemingly cause certain events in our lives to literally manifest relatively shortly afterwards (whether within minutes or the hour although it was something I kind of stumbled upon by accident and am not entirely how it works or what conditions are required for it to happen)... interestingly enough, Dr. Dean Radin wrote a book, titled : «The Conscious Universe»

xXPORTALXx • 10 months ago

hahahahaha XD. Nice

Mega-Chad-Type-Hero • 10 months ago

Nothing to do with drugs; simply some «anomalous» experiences; certainly the «extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence/proof» mantra frequently gets invoked by the materialism-aligned actors, but, extraordinary to one group is quite mundane/ordinary to another group; the problem ends up being that it is like a metaphorical repeat of those who refused to bother looking into the telescope; anybody can experience what I described here though if they were to actually bother doing/practicing meditation (the correct/proper way; fully relaxed, but, not quite enough to fall asleep) each and every day for at least 30m for a few months in a row, something that most people won't bother to field-test though, unfortunately. Perhaps what I described might sound «cool» but it really would actually «freak» most people out.

Fortune's Feline • 10 months ago

I wholeheartedly agree with you! Some people might call such things serendipity, but I feel that is not quite an adequate label for such. Speaking for myself, I know exactly what you're referring to as this occurs in my experience all the time. In fact, it's entirely possible to induce such occurrences to the point of reaching an "at will" status for this. (Given time and practice.) Moving past that though, of course the Universe is Conscious, everything in existence has Consciousness to some degree, although possessing sentience as we define it is a different matter. (That said I also personally believe many things have sentience as well, just not in a way that we would recognize such due to the alien nature of such sentience in comparison with our own experiences of reality and consciousness differing too greatly for many to bridge the gap that exists there for the time being.)

Though, to be clear, In this case I entirely agree that the universe is sentient as well.

Speaking of books, I recently purchased Goswami's "The Self Aware Universe" and Tarthang Tulku's "Dynamics of Time and Space" although I have not read them yet, due to having far more books of such nature than readily available time in which to consume them. XD

Nick • 10 months ago

Most psychologists would agree with you. I m really sorry that i disagree with you, but we humans have a tendency that makes us conscious of a few things around us. Ususally we expect these things to occur in some sort of manner and we notice them or " we unconsciously" make them happen. I think that this is the reason you feel the way you do...

Fortune's Feline • 10 months ago

If I may respectfully intercede here and say that I believe the chracters were actually referring to Typhon, as Typhon was the son of Gaia and Hades and was described as being a monster with a hundred dragon's heads.

What Mitama meant was that the Legendary counterpart Typhon/Typhaon/Typhoeus that Gaias monster/Typhon was based on, was either not intelligent enough, or was just plain too animalistic and wild to be able to communicate with.

She wasn't referring to the Goddess Gaia, as obviously her Archon could speak and interact and therefore there's no reason her Divine counterpart couldn't as well.

Some people might ask, why not reason with Gaias Counterpart and have them take away Gaias powers? My take would be that at this point, Typhon has become it's own being/individual manifestation and therefore even without Gaia it would likely rampage out of control, so it's better to have at least someone who CAN control it, and since noone else can communicate with it, and it IS Gaias child, she's kind of needed.

KiboE • 10 months ago

The fact you assumed/misinterpreted that they were trying to talk to Typhon is evidence that the anime lacked content. Manga clearly stated (in better detail) that Yukito wanted Mitama to talk to the real God Gaia to nullify Archon Gaia’s power. The fact the anime also brought up Dakini’s case as an “example” and you still didn’t get it is another form of proof. You think they would try to “talk” to a Monster first and not Gaia?

Also, you are misunderstanding the fundamentals in regards to Archons and the Gods. Just because the Archon is a sentient person doesn’t prove anything in regards to the god they are borrowing their powers from. The Archons are simply some humans (as Mitama mentioned in Dakini’s case) who’re using a God’s powers through super science. They otherwise have no other relation or connection. Example, just because a human harnesses the power of the sun/ocean/forest, doesn’t mean the sun/ocean/forest is sentient too.

Also, in regards to your last part: I get your trying to make sense of why they couldn’t just ask real Gaia to stop Archon Gaia, but I’m speaking from the actual source (manga) itself. Real God Gaia, in this series, simply Again, doesn’t exactly have a “conscious”. The anime failed to convey that content and made you misinterpret/misunderstand what they were actually trying to say. Find The chapters 33-37 to see for yourself.

KiboE • 10 months ago

Manga content that was skipped: Al and Sil were keeping Gaia “distracted” with their band gig along with a “Fake Mitama” that Mitama created while the gang were aiming at her family/followers.
Gaia figured out the ruse after licking the “Fake Mitama” (her pervert side figured out the difference). The “Fake Mitama” is the same one that appeared in this episode. The one that got summoned by Al’s pendant and wrote the message that Mitama and Yukito are alive.

Another manga content they skipped (or just pretty much changed) was a funny skit that was suppose to happen right after Yukito and Mitama got eaten by Typhon. Alural said she wants to avenge Yukito and had the truck refitted/remade MAD MAX style but Siluril stopped her 😂 lol.

During Gaia’s conversation with Yukito in Typhon, Gaia tortures Yukito in very grotesque ways like Gaia kissing Yukito and making monster worms burst out of his stomach like Xenomorph horror. Yukito also tried to appeal to Gaia, but Gaia saw right through him and does the talk how their the same like in this episode. They took out the part where Yukito almost gave into his despair when he begins to realize he’s becoming like his dad (and a illusion of his dad appeared before him to express the realization).

Honestly a disappointing adaptation in light of all the changes made just to make it fit a 30 minute time slot. If you have to sacrifice this much why even bother?

Shiruriru: “Nothing should be this big!” – that’s what she said!
Also: Step on me, mommy Gaia!

Back to the plot - seeing the “parents” get rid of the girl was pretty depressing. That world really was sick. And the poor kids got betrayed even by Gaia in the end.
That boy with the book really helped them with translating Mitama... hologram's (?) message. Aside from that, Gaia's backstory was pretty interesting and I'm looking forward to the last episode. I love this anime's story.
